As members of our Infrastructure Engineering team, the Systems Engineers are in charge of designing, implementing, and maintaining the information technology systems for the company. Their duties include designing the basic computing infrastructure to accomplish key tasks, establishing networking rules for cybersecurity, and troubleshooting network errors or other technical issues.

To be successful in this position, the systems engineer should be a highly motivated, results-driven individual who can create the perfect solution for Scalefast's higher-level needs. The best candidate will also be an excellent listener and communicator, with the ability to explain why their solutions are the best fit for the company.

Job requirements


  • Design, implement and maintain scalable architectures in cloud providers to support traffic on an eCommerce company with 99.9% of SLA.
  • Keep current with new technologies and developments in the Cloud Native space.
  • Constantly improve product quality, security, and performance.
  • Modifying and improving existing systems.
  • Generating scripts and templates required for the automatic provisioning of resources.
  • Implementing best practices for general system security and data backups.
  • Anticipating potential issues or bottlenecks and identifying possible solutions.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving all technical issues when they arise.
  • Liaising with vendors and keeping relevant stakeholders up to date with developments.
  • Coordinate with SRE teams for monitoring systems in the existing network to ensure there are no productivity set-backs.
  • Constantly improve product quality, security, and performance.
  • Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities.
  • Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.


  • Significant experience and deep knowledge of AWS.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code tools knowledge, ideally Chef.
  • Terraform experience.
  • Experience creating scripts (e.g. using Python, shell scripting) and setting up software for automation.
  • Deep knowledge of networking technologies (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).
  • Familiarity with administration, performance tuning, and system monitoring.
  • Positive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • English written and verbal communication skills.


  • Experience in a peak performance organization, preferably a tech startup.
  • Experience with the Scalefast stores as a customer or Scalefast member with a different role.
  • Product company experience.
  • Experience working with a remote team.
  • Enterprise software company experience.
  • Development platform/tool industry experience.
  • Experience working with a global or otherwise multicultural team.
  • Computer science education or equivalent experience.
  • Passionate about/experienced with open source and development tools.
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (AWS CCP), or any other certifications of the like.
